CHRISTMAS CARDS!!! FINALLY FINISHED!

Hello Everyone!

I hope all is well! Tonight, I finally finished my Christmas cards! I just finished stuffing them in envelopes, addressing them and stamping them, all 50 of them. I can not wait to take them to the post office tomorrow and send them out. I have never made my own Christmas cards before and I have to say I really enjoyed making my own cards. I plan on continuing this tradition for years to come. There is something special about creating your very own Christmas cards and I am so glad I put the time and effort into this project. It took a lot of time and effort but it was fun and so rewarding! I hope these cards will put a smile on the face of all who receive them. I chose to make a pedestal card that measures 4 and 3quarters by 5 1/2. I made 50 cards and chose 5 designs. I made 5 sets of 10 cards each. I chose two stamped image designs and 3 Cricut cut designs. I kept the designs simple and used Stickles glitter glue as my only embellishment on the cards. I think this is the most cards I have ever made at one time. I started around Thanksgiving and finished tonight. Because I work full-time, I had to work on the cards here and there whenever I had free time. I have no regrets and think everyone should try making there own Christmas cards at least once in their lifetime. I had fun but it is a relief to be done. Now it is on to my next project-Christmas Tags for my Christmas gifts so stay tuned!

Hand made Advent Calendar (Countdown to Christmas)

Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know we did. We had the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving twice this year. The 1st dinner was with Grandma and Grandpa Foster and family in Wheat field, IN and then we celebrated Thanksgiving at home in our apartment with my mom, brother in-law and his girlfriend. It was the 1st time that my husband and I had ever hosted Thanksgiving dinner and it was a great success! We had never cooked a Turkey before and we were a little nervous about it but it turned out perfect and everyone enjoyed it. Anyways, enough blabber LOL! On to the project! Today I would like to share a project with you that I started a few weeks ago and finished today. It is an Advent Calendar. I made it using a kit that I bought at Joann's Fabric. The kit is made by DCWV and it cost around 10$ but included all the supplies needed to make a very cute advent calendar. The only thing you need is glue or some type of adhesive. The kit offers suggestions on how to put the calendar together but you can create your calendar any way you want. I love love love how mine turned out! It is absolutely adorable! Unfortunately, the pictures do not do it justice. It is really colorful and full of glitter and texture. This weekend, I am decorating for Christmas so I will be hanging it up for all to see. Thank you for stopping by and hope this inspires you to not just buy Christmas decor this year but make some of your own. It is so much fun and does not have to be expensive. It allows you to put your own personal touch on the Holidays and can help create new traditions and some amazing memories.

Have a wonderful evening!

Happy crafting!

Momo's Tuesday Challenge ! (Make Anything with a Turkey)

Hi Everyone!

Today I am sharing with you a card I made for a challenge hosted by Momo of madebymomo.blogspot.com. Every Tuesday Momo hosts a challenge for us to participate in and it is always a fun way to demonstrate our creative abilities. Todays challenge was to incorporate a turkey into a project of your choice. I decided to make a card. I did not use my Cricut to complete this project, Instead, I used die cut stickers to make my card. I had some Thanksgiving Day stickers that I had won at a crop back in September and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to use these stickers to make a card. This card confirms that you do not need a Cricut or the latest technology to make a cute card. All I used was card stock, patterned paper, adhesive, and stickers in this project. I love how this card turned out! It is so cute! I hope you have been inspired!

Thank You for Stopping By!

Hubby Challenge !!! Hosted by Momo!

Hello Everyone !

I was so excited to see that Momo was hosting a Hubby challenge on her blog! I asked my husband who by the way is very artistic, creative, and crafty if he would like to play along and he said he would. He decided to make a birthday card because on Friday(yesterday) we were attending a birthday party for a friend and we still needed a card for this special occasion. Not only did my husband make a card but he used my Martha Stewart score board to make a homemade envelope and embellish it as well. I love how the card came out but, I love everything my husband creates. He is very talented. If you stop by my Etsy shop when it opens you will see that he is crafty with paper too! Thank You Momo for such a fun Challenge! I know my husband had fun and I enjoyed seeing what he came up with without any input or help from me. He used Create a Critter to make this card and envelope.

Halloween Cards !

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to share with you a few Halloween cards that I made recently for a challenge over at Mary's blog which is http://cardztv.blogspot.com/. You can get to her blog by clicking on her button on the right side of my blog. The challenge was to make a Halloween card. It is that simple. I made 1 card and then 3 more cards because I was having so much fun and I wanted to use the new card stock and stamps that I recently purchased. I used K & Company Halloween designer card stock and We are memory keepers clear stamps from the "Heebie Jeebies" Halloween stamp collection. I also used stickles to add some glitter to each card. I purchased the card stock at Michaels and the stamps at my local scrapbook store. I did not use the Cricut for this project. Instead, I used the Martha Stewart circle cutter to make the circles for the cards. I wanted to keep this project simple. I really like how each of these 4 cards turned out. I hope you like them as well and that this project gives you some ideas for your next project. If you have any questions about this project or post please feel free to leave me a comment.

Mini Album!

My 1st Mini Album !

Hello my crafty friends,

It has been awhile since I have had a new post on my blog. Life has been busy lately and I have been on vacation but I am back now and I have a new project to share with you. I am so excited to share my latest creation because it is the very 1st mini album that I have ever created and I am very proud of how it turned out. It was soooo much fun to make. I was inspired by "Michelle" from "Scrappin with my Bug" if you have not checked out her blog yet you need to. You can find Michelle at www.scrappinwithmybug.blogspot.com Anyways, Michelle filmed a video tutorial on "How to make a gate fold mini album" simply using card stock and images from "Cricut" cartridges. After seeing the mini album that she created, I knew that I had to try and make one these albums and that I would showcase pictures of my niece in the album I was making. I used colored card stock from "Reflections" which you can purchase at your local "Michaels" store. I also used patterned paper from "K & Company" entitled " Carolyn Gavin designer paper" purchased at "Michaels". I used Create a Critter" and "Don Juan" "Cricut" Cartridges and I stamped some images and sayings as well. I hope you enjoy looking at these photos and are inspired to try something you have never done before. Thank You Michelle for inspiring me. Your tutorial was very easy to follow. Please feel free to leave any comments or questions you have about this project. I love to receive feedback.

A Card for Monique !

Hello my fellow bloggers !

Today, I want to share with you a card I made for a very special woman named Monique. Monique is a fellow crafter/scrap-booker and was recently diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Robyn from www.mypinkstamper.com is hosting a campaign that involves creating pink cards for Monique as a way to inspire, encourage, comfort etc.. Monique. I do not know Monique personally however, when you get the opportunity to use your creativity for a good cause you jump at the opportunity. It is opportunities like this one, when I can send love and encouragement someone's way that keeps me inspired to keep making cards etc. I may not know Monique but I do know this disease because I have an aunt who has been diagnosed with breast cancer and in that way we are connected. I will continue to pray for Monique and I hope that my card along with all the cards she receives grant her strength to keep up the fight and ultimately win the fight! If you would like to create and send a card to Monique, please head over to www.mypinkstamper.com for details.

New Layouts!!

Hello Everyone ! Happy Holiday weekend!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. I know I am. I am going to see a fireworks show tonight with my husband so that will be fun.

As I stated in my previous post, I am working on my wedding day scrapbook and I have been inspired lately to work on the pages of this album. I created these pages using my cricut and other crafty tools. The 1st layout that I would like to share with you today incorporate a fall theme. I used the colors brown, green, white, orange, and gold because We were married in the fall and the photographs on this page were taken outdoors. I cut the leaves and the tree using my Cricut and the "Stretch your Imagination Cratridge". The large leaf in the bottom right hand corner of the page will be used as a journaling block. I think it is fun to take a shape from a Cricut cartridge and enlarge it so you can use it as a space to journal. I love how it looks. For the title I used a sicker that was given to me to be used in my wedding day album. The dimensions of the card stock measure 12x12, 8 and 1/2 X 11, and 12x3 inches. I chose to print my photos with a white border to allow the pictures to stand out against the green pattern paper. The only other tool used to create this page was my corner rounder. It was a very simple page to create yet so much fun to make.

Next, I will share a two page layout. On the 2 page layout, I used the colors red black and white. I chose these colors because the colors of our wedding were red, black, ivory, and white. I did not use the cricut in this layout but did use chip board stickers, my xyron sticker maker, card stock, glitter, glue, and my white gel pen. The dimensions of the card stock are as follows, 1 piece of 12X12 card stock. I piece of 8 and 1/2 x 11 card stock. I piece of pattern paper that measures 12x3 inches. Two strips of card stock that measure 12x1 inch ( I covered the white card stock in glitter). I used the same dimensions for the 2nd page of this layout. I love the way it turned out and it was super simple. Anyone can create this simple layout!

I hope this gives you some ideas and inspiration when making your own scrapbook page.
Have a safe and happy holiday and I will be back soon with more inspiration!

Happy Crafting!

I like Challenges !!!

Hello Everyone,

OK, So as you know if you follow my blog, I just entered my 1st challenge on Tuesday over at MadebyMomo.blogspot.com I had so much fun and received such positive feed back from all my crafty friends that I have decided to enter yet another challenge online. The challenge I chose to enter can be found at http://www.creativetimeforme.com/ or you can click on the button link on the right side of my blog. The idea of the challenge is to use the "Doodle Charms" Cricut cartridge or another older Cricut cartridge that you own to create a scrapbook page. The title of the challenge is "Throwback Thursday" and every Thursday a new challenge is posted on Emma's blog. If you have not visited this blog yet you need to. Emma is so talented and her blog is a great place to visit for inspiration. For this challenge, I made a 12 X 12 scrapbook page layout using the "Don Juan" Cricut cartridge as well as the "Wedding and Marriage" Cricut solutions cartridge. I married the love of my life on November 14, 2009 and I am in the process of creating my wedding day scrapbook. I have sooooo many pictures from that day so it will take awhile before the album is complete but little by little it is coming together. This was the perfect challenge for me because it was motivation to continue with this very important project. My wedding is the reason I own a Cricut so I felt this was a very appropriate choice for my challenge entry. I love love love how this page turned out and I had a blast using my favorite crafty tool my Cricut. Thank You Emma for hosting this challenge and good luck to all who enter. I look forward to seeing everyone's projects.

Happy Crafting!!

I Entered my 1st Challenge!

Hello Everyone !
I am sorry it has been a few days since my last post but our power was out all weekend due to storms and I did not have access to the internet. With that said, I would like to start this post by saying that I have decided to enter my very 1st challenge ever! The challenge is being hosted by Momo over at MadebyMomo.blogspot.com The prize is the "Cindy Loo" Cricut cartridge". Please click on Momo's button link on the right side of my blog to visit her and enter the challenge. The challenge is to make a card incorporating spots and dots. I made a card using the "Create a Critter" Cricut cartridge and my favorite tool besides the Cricut my "Cuttlebug". I used a card base that was green with white polka dots. I then cut the turtle, message balloon, heart and grass using "Create a Critter". I embossed the turtle, the turtle shell, the grass, and the message balloon with my Cuttlebug folders. The CuttleBug folders I used were "Swiss Dots", "Spots and Dots" and "Distressed Stripes". I absolutely love how this card came out. I had no real plan. I just created this card on the spot. It was so much fun! I hope to enter more challenges in the future and I encourage any newbies out there like me to get your craft on and enter this challenge. Thank You Momo for hosting this challenge. I can't wait to see what my new crafty friends create for this challenge. Have fun everyone and good luck!

Home Made Note Card Set !

Hello Everyone,

Last night, I made a set of homemade note cards and matching box for my mommy. It is a surprise for her. Don't worry, My mom does not own a computer or use the internet so I am not spoiling her surprise. Just like me, My mom loves cards and stationary etc.. I watched a video on you tube by cardcrazy09 AKA Mary of "Cardz TV" on creating your own home made note card set for your self or as a gift and I was inspired to make a set of my own. If you would like to watch Mary's tutorial please click on the button link on the right side of my blog and it will take you to her blog. She is so talented and very inspiring. I used card stock, my Cricut machine, The "Don Juan" Cartridge and the Create a Critter" cartridge as well as my Martha Stewart score board, paper trimer, ribbon stickers, and adhesive. It is super simple and really fun! I hope you give it a try. I can not wait to see how my mom reacts to this special gift. Baby Shower Card!

Hello Everyone!

Happy Friday!

A co worker of mine is having a baby shower tomorrow above are pictures of the card I made for her. Anytime there is an opportunity to be crafty, I take advantage of it! LOL! I am not attending the baby shower so I gave her the card today. I just purchased the "Stretch your Imagination" Cricut Cartridge and I used it to create this adorable card. I also used my cuttlebug to emboss the card.I used the "spots and dots" folder. It was super fun to make. I took a picture of the inside of the card as well. I used a Martha Stewart punch to decorate the inside of the card. The name of the punch is "flower shower". I must admit though, my dear husband is pretty creative himself. He helped me create this card. I can not take all the credit. He is so supportive when it comes to my crafty addiction. I love you honey! I hope this card inspires you and gives you ideas on how you can be creative by making a homemade card for someone you love!

Keep returning for more inspiration and ideas!
